In Honour of Autumn

In honour of autumn
I lift up my head.

In honour of autumn
I colour life brightly.

In honour of autumn
I draw a new template
I turn a new leaf
I breathe again
I breathe anew.

I smell autumn on the air,
I feel it with the trees,
In the leaves,
In the sun
And the distance that grows between.

In honour of autumn
I think new thoughts.

In honour of autumn
I see life differently
Than the blinding brightness
Of summer
Or the soft whiteness
Of winter.

In honour of autumn
I feel alive again.

And here you were thinking this was just a poem. Nah, ya dolls, my tribute to autumn is much more intimate than intricately woven words.
